Ilm al-Ladun (innate science) is given to Hazrat Khidr (pbuh) through revelation, but Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will not receive revelation
Ilm al-Ladun (innate science) is given to Hazrat Khidr (pbuh) through revelation, but Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will not receive revelation therefore he will be subject to the Qur'an and the Sunnah
