Merits Of The Rule Of Imam Mahdi
Amirul Momineen Ali (A.S.) said,
"He will direct desires towards (the path of) guidance while people will have turned guidance towards desires, and he will turn their views to the direction of the Quran while the people will have turned the Quran to their views."
(Nahjut Balagha, sermon no, 138)
According to the submission of Ibne Abil Hadid, this saying refers to Hazrat Mahdi (A.S.)
(Sharhe Nafyul Balagha vol.9. Pg.40)
Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (A.S.) said,
"When the Qaem shall arise, he will rule with justice, the tyrants of his time shall fear him, the righteous will be safe, the earth shall reveal its treasures, all the truth-seekers will seek his company and no follower of any religion would remain except that they see Islam and declare their faith in it."
(Kashful Ghumma vol.3. Pg.255)
Imam Raza (A.S.) said,
"The fourth of my descendants is the son of the chaste maid. Allah shall purify the earth from every atrocity through him and rid it of every injustice. He is the one whose birth shall be doubted. He will have an occupation before his reappearance. When he reappears, the earth will light up with his brilliance. And he will establish the scales of justice among the people. Then, (among men), one will not oppress the other."
(Faraidus Simtain vol.2. Pg.336)
KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNSEEN (GHAIB)
(KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNSEEN)(GHAIB)
THE VERSES OF THE QUR’AN RELATING THAT ALLAH REVEALS THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNSEEN TO THOSE OF HIS MESSENGERS HE WILLS
VERSES RELATING THAT NO ONE BUT ALLAH KNOWS THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNSEEN
• Say: ‘No one in the heavens and the earth knows the unseen except Allah.’ They are not aware of when they will be raised. (Surat an-Naml, 65).
• The keys of the unseen are in His possession. No one knows them but Him… (Surat al-An’am, 59)
ALLAH REVEALS THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNSEEN TO THOSE SERVANTS OF HIM HE WILLS
• He is the Knower of the unseen, does not divulge His unseen to anyone- except a Messenger with whom He is well pleased, and then He posts sentinels before him and behind him. (Surat al-Jinn, 26-27)
• ... Allah has not given you access to the unseen. But Allah chooses those of His Messengers whom He wills. So believe in Allah and His Messengers. If you believe and fear [and respect Allah] you will have an immense reward. (Surah Al ‘Imran, 179)
• This is news from the unseen which We reveal to you. You were not with them when they cast their reeds to see which of them would be the guardian of Maryam. You were not with them when they quarrelled. (Surah Al ‘Imran, 44)
• That is some of the news of the unseen which We reveal to you. Neither you nor your people knew it before this time. So be steadfast. The best end result is for those who fear [and respect Allah]. (Surah Hud, 49)
• This is news of the unseen which We reveal to you. You were not with them when they decided what to do and devised their scheme. (Surah Yusuf, 102)
• And when Jesus son of Maryam said, “Tribe of Israel, I am the Messenger of Allah to you, confirming the Torah which came before me and giving you the good news of a Messenger after me whose name is Ahmad.” When he brought them the clear signs, they said, “This is downright magic.” (Surat as-Saff, 6)
• THE PROPHET JESUS (AS)
...I will tell you what you eat and what you store up in your homes. There is a sign for you in that if you are believers. (Surah Al ‘Imran, 49)
• THE PROPHET JOSEPH (AS)
He said: “No meal to feed you will arrive before I have informed you what they mean. That is part of what my Lord taught me...” (Surah Yusuf, 37)
• The Prophet confided a certain matter to one of his wives, then when she divulged it Allah disclosed that to him, and he communicated part of it and withheld part of it. When he told her of it, she said, “Who told you of this?” He said, “The All-Knowing and All-Aware informed me of it.” (Surat at-Tahrim, 3)

Rights of Imam e Zaman
Rights of Imam e Zaman
ajjal Allah o Taala farajeh aaalshareef wa salwat ullah e alak (ajs)
Rights and duties are co related. If one thing is somebody’s right, it is an others duty
simultaneously. For example: Mr. A does porterage for you. To get a wage for that
porterage from you is the right of Mr. A and it is your duty to pay him the wage.
Similarly, Maulana Imam e Zaman ajs has numerous rights and all those rights are the
duties of ummah. If some one does not perform his duties, he is a sinner. But if some body
refuses and does not accept his duties, it is kufr as he will be out of the Islamic

the number of the famous name of Maulana Imam e Zaman ajs; Mahdi ajs). Keep thinking
and you will keep finding count less reasons behind the rights of Maulana Imam e Zaman ajs.
AN OTHER WAY TO UNDERSTAND THE SUBJECT
To understand the rights of Maulana Imam e Zaman ajs we adopt an indirect way. All of us
know very well that every momin has got certain rights over other mukmin brothers. This
exercise gives two benefits,
· we understand the rights of mukmin brother
· and we estimate the peak of the rights of our Maulana ajs.
If a momin has these much rights on you, how much should e the quantum of the
rights of Ameer ul Moomineen?
All these rights are narrated by Maasoomeen salwat ullah e alaehim ajmaeen.
1. If any body leaves his mukmin brother unbefriended and supportless, he will be
considered amongst his murderers. Imagine the gravity of the punishment for a
person who leaves his IMAM s.u.a. alone in enemies.
2. If some one accedes with the tyranny of a person, he is just like an associate of the
tyrant. If some one oppresses a momin in the east and the other momin living
even in the west does not feel grieved upon that, he will be considered as an
associate of that oppressor. Can we feel the gravity of oppressions being faced by
Maulana Imam e Zaman ajs ? let me give you some leads; Maula ajs has been
exiled, Maula ajs is in occultation which is considered equivalent to prison by
Maula ajs, Majority of the rights of Maulana Imam e Zaman ajs have been forfeited,
Maulana Imam e Zaman ajs has been devoluted from his heirship, Maulana Imam e
Zaman ajs has been deprived of his assets and ownerships, Maulana Imam e Zaman
ajs is highly grieved and people do not even realize that, no body feels
lamentation of Maulana Imam e Zaman ajs, his holiness has been deprived of his
right of global kingship, Maulana Imam e Zaman ajs has been deprived of helpers
and the supporters of Maulana Imam e Zaman ajs are very less.
3. If two mukmins are traveling together. One of them stays to attend the call of
nature and the other one does not wait and keeps walking till he disappears. The
one who has kept walking and not waited for his brother is classified as Maloon.
(What will be the status of those who are ignorant of their Imam ajs?)
4. It is a hadith of Holy Prophet SAW, he who spends more on him than his mukmin
brother, is not from us.
5. One should not like a thing for his momin brother that he dislikes for him.
6. Maula Ameer e Kainat sua revealed;
· Allah has put the rights of his devotees first to his own rights. Hence a person
who fulfills the rights of Allah’s devotees, can also fulfill the rights of Allah jj
( Ghurar ul Hikam)
· A person whose rights have been wasted by you, can not be your brother.
(Bihar vol 74, page165)
7. Maulana Imam Al Sadiq sua revealed;
· A person who grandeurs the religion of Allah, also knows the grandeur of the
rights of his brother. And a person who disburdens Allah’s religion also
undermines the rights of his brother. (Bihar vol 74, page 267)
· As any body can not describe our supremacy in a way it deserve and can not
fulfill our rights made essential for him in real terms, similarly no body can
either understand the supremacy of the rights of his mukmin brother or fulfill
his rights made essential by Allah jj. (Bihar vol 74, p 266; vol 76, p 42)
· Worship Allah jj to any level, but no worship is better than the observance of
the rights of a mukmin brother. (Kafi vol 2, p 170)
· It is right of a mukmin brother that he should be preffered over all the personal
needs. (Bihar vol 74 p 391; Khisal hadith 25)
· The easiest right of one mukmin over the other is that you like for him the same
as you like for yourself and dislike the same for him as you dislike for
yourself. (Kafi vol 2, p 169)
8. Maulana Imam Al Askari sua revealed;
· He is highly respected by Almighty, who recognizes the rights of his brothers
the most and delivers them to perfection. (Bihar vol 75 p117)
The above-mentioned eight points are just a few of the 1000s of holy sayings regarding
the rights of a mukmin. We can easily asses the importance of the rights of Imam sua from
it when we visualize and realize “ How more important is Imam sua than a momin in the
eyes of Allah”. How great maloon and sinner will be a person who deprives Imam sua
from his divine rights. Following are a few rights of Maulana Imam e Zaman ajjal Allah o
taala farajeh ushareef wa salawat Ullah e alaek (ajs). These are just an example otherwise
they are countless. Every right has an ocean hidden in it, if one really understands that.

VERSES 89-91 OF SURAT AL-HIJR REFER TO THE END TIMES AND HAZRAT MAHDI (AS)
SAY: “I AM INDEED A CLEAR WARNER.” LIKE AS WE SENT DOWN ON THE DIVIDERS, THOSE WHO DIVIDED THE QUR’AN INTO PARTS. (SURAT AL-HIJR, 89-91)
1.
... “I am indeed a clear warner..."
Our Prophet (saas) is the last prophet sent by Allah to warn the worlds. However, Allah also calls on people to believe in His signs by way of chosen guides as well as by the prophets. Hazrat Mahdi (as) will be a warner who calls on people to believe and to live by Islam and the Qur’an in 1400, according to the Islamic calendar, the century we are living in now.
2.
... "Like as We sent down on the dividers...
The “dividers” referred to in the verse are those who try to include superstitious beliefs incompatible with the Qur’an and the Sunnah of our Prophet (saas) and that have no place in Islam in the religion and to sow dispute and conflict among Muslims. These are people who do not want Muslims to be united and unified. They divide, rather than unify. They sow division among Islam through ignorant pronouncements. In the time of our Prophet (saas), all Muslims formed a single Ummah under his leadership. People lived in full conformity with the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saas). Therefore, this verse particularly refers to periods after our Prophet (saas), in other words the 1400s, when Hazrat Mahdi (as) will appear. Because this century is when people and societies that sow dissent stemming from sectarian differences, the dividers in other words, will be most influential in the Islamic world. So much so that great wars have taken place between Islamic societies (such as the Iran-Iraq, Pakistan-Bangladesh and Iraq-Kuwait wars). But the whole Islamic world will be unified in the time of Hazrat Mahdi (as), and all divisions and corruption stemming from divisions will be eliminated.
3.
... those who divided the Qur’an into parts.
The division of the Qur’an into parts is the spreading of corruption by some people in our time by trying to impose various superstitious ideas and beliefs on Islam and making, in their own eyes, unlawful things lawful, and lawful things unlawful. Allah has sent down the Qur’an, a clear book, and has revealed all His commandments to believers in the Qur’an. Believers’ responsibility is to take the Qur’an and the Sunnah of our Prophet (saas) as their guides. But after the decease of our Prophet (saas), some people imposed superstitious beliefs and practices, in other words innovations, foreign to the essence of Islam upon it. Most important of these are various ignorant scholars. However, as revealed in the hadith by Rasulullah (saas) and in statements by Islamic scholars, Hazrat Mahdi (as) will eliminate all these subsequent innovations and restore the religion to its original form as it was in the time of our Prophet (saas). Hazrat Mahdi (as) will intellectually eliminate this mindset that creates division within the religion, that distorts it from its original form and that spreads strife among Muslims. He will teach people that it is enough for them to live by the Qur’an and the Sunnah of our Prophet (saas). It is for these reasons that supposed religious scholars who espouse these innovations will be Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) main foes. Indeed, Imam Rabbani says that these supposed religious scholars will oppose Hazrat Mahdi (as) by saying, "This person [Hazrat Mahdi (as)] wishes to eliminate our religion and damage our law.” The scale and impact of Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) intellectual work on this subject can be seen from this wise statement by Imam Rabbani.
When Hazrat Mahdi (as), whose coming is promised, wishes to increase the value of the religion and restore the Sunnah, people of the bi’dah (innovations) (people who say that customs that have no place in the original form of the religion and entered it only later are actually part of it) together with those who make a practice of deeds and who confuse the religion, imagining that they are doing good (doing something with which Allah will be pleased), will say in amazement:
- This person (Hazrat Mahdi [as]) wishes to eliminate our religion and damage our law.” (Letters of Rabbani, 1/535)
In his Futuhat al-Makkiya (The Meccan Revelations), Muhyiddin Ibn 'Arabi says it will be these ignorant scholars who are most hostile toward Hazrat Mahdi (as):
...Hazrat Mahdi (as) will implement the religion, just as it was in the time of our Prophet (saas). He will eliminate sects from the world. No sect will remain but the true and genuine religion.
His foes will be those who imitate the scholars of doctrine. Because when they see that Hazrat Mahdi (as) pronounces totally differently to the imams of the sects, they will be displeased, but will be unable to oppose him...
His declared foes will be the scholars of religious law. Because they will enjoy no more esteem among the people. And their knowledge of the subject of judgments will decline. With the coming of this imam, the inconsistencies among the rulings by these scholars will be eliminated. If he had no sword (knowledge) they would issue a fatwa for his death.
(Portents of Judgment Day, Muhammad ibn Rasul al-Hussain al-Barzanji, Pamuk Press, pp. 186-187)
IN HIS [HAZRAT MAHDI’S (AS)] TIME, THE RELIGION WILL BE RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL FORM BY BEING COMPLETELY PURGED OF SUPERSTITION. HE WILL OPPOSE THE SECTS OF THE ULAMA IN MANY OF HIS PRONOUNCEMENTS. THEY WILL THUS KEEP THEIR DISTANCE FROM HIM. Because in their opinion, they will agree that Allah will leave no restorer of the religion after the imams... (Muhyiddin Ibn 'Arabi, "Futuhat al-Makkiya", ch. 66, Vol. 3, pp. 327- 328)
For other hadith on the subject 1
1 Hazrat Mahdi (as) will leave no subsequent innovations uneliminated. He will discharge the requirements of the religion just like the Prophet (saas) in the End Times. (Portents of Judgment Day, Muhammad ibn Rasul al-Hussain al-Barzanji, Pamuk Press, p. 163)
In the same way that the Prophet (saas) kept Islam alive in the beginning, so Hazrat Mahdi (as) will keep Islam alive at the end.
Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi `Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntazar, p. 27
In his [Hazrat Mahdi’s (as)] time, the religion will be restored to its original form by being purged of all superstition. HE WILL OPPOSE THE SECTS OF THE ULAMA IN MANY OF HIS PRONOUNCEMENTS, AND THEY WILL THUS KEEP THEIR DISTANCE FROM HIM. Because in their opinion, they will agree that Allah will leave no restorer of the religion after the imams... (Muhyiddin Ibn 'Arabi, " Futuhat al-Makkiya ", ch. 66, Vol. 3, pp. 327- 328)
… His [Hazrat Mahdi’s (as)] sword are his brothers. They will necessarily submit to his rule because they are afraid of his sword. HIS DECLARED FOES WILL BE THE ULAMA OF RELIGIOUS LAW. Had he no sword, in other words no brothers, they would issue a fatwa for his death. Because Almighty Allah will cleanse him with goodness and the sword, and they will obey him... (Imam Suyuti)

Presenting Deeds to Imam (pbuh)
Imam Khomeini said: All of our acts are watched over by God, the Exalted; and the scrolls of our deeds are presented to the Imam of the age. The Imam of Time (a.s.) is keeping an eye us and you must know that your actions should not be such that when they are presented to the Imam of Time (ajt), he will become unhappy and annoyed or feel embarrassed in front of God's angels by telling that these are my followers; they are my friends but they acted against God's commands. The head of a nation becomes passive when his nation commits offense. When the letters of our deeds are presented to the Imam of Time our deeds should be in a manner that shows that we are obedient. (It is narrated in the traditions that our deeds are presented to the Imam twice a week.). Source from http://www.imamalmahdi.com

HAZRAT MAHDI (AS) WILL HAVE A LIGHT BEARD, THIN AT THE SIDES AND LONG AT THE FRONT
... A MAN OF AVERAGE HEIGHT, DARK, WITH A LIGHT BEARD, THIN AT THE SIDE AND LONG IN THE FRONT; ... WHO WILL BE KNOWN AS SHUAYB IBN SALIH. HE WILL HAVE WHITE CLOTHES, A BLACK BANNER AND 4000 PEOPLE UNDER HIS COMMAND ...**.
(Al-Fatawa al-Hadithiyyah, Abul Abbas Shahabuddin Ahmad Ibn Hajar al-Haytami -41)
** This name in the hadith is not this person’s real name, it is that of a title. In the same way, name such as “Mahdi”, “jahjah”, “dajjal” and “sufyan” are also titles. It does not mean they will come bearing those names. For example, our Prophet (saas) appears as “Ahyed, Ahmad, Paracletos and Munhamanna” in the Torah and the Gospel. Although the Prophet Ibrahim’s (as) father’s name was “Taruh,” the Qur’an calls him “Azar.” Allah knows the truth, since that person emerging from the East will have only a small army to oppose all the armies of the world, he has been given the name of Shuayb, meaning small division. His being called “Ibn Saleh” is because, like his father, this individual is a pure man...
In this hadith, another name of that individual is “Haris ibn Harras,” Haris meaning lion. This name is the equivalent of this person’s name .
“A man [Hazrat Mahdi (as)] will come from Mawaraun nahr, and he will be called Al-Haris Ibn Harras**.
(Abu Dawud, Mahdi 1, (2452))
Narrator: Hazrat Hilal Ibn Amr (ra)
(At-Taj, Ali Nasif al-Husayn, Vol. 5, p. 617)
(Sunan Abu Dawud Translation and Commentary, Samil Press: 14/410)
Haris means lion.
There is a man in command of his troops who is called Mansur. Al-Haris Ibn Harras will prepare the way for Al-i Muhammad in the same way the Quraysh prepared the way for Rasulullah (saas). Every believer has an obligation to help him or obey his call.” (At-Taj, Ali Nasif al-Husayn, Vol. 5/p. 617)
** Haris means lion. That person’s name means the same thing. The hadith allude to that person.
Looking the hadith revealed by our Prophet (saas), he has provided and great deal of information about Hazrat Mahdi (as). Our prophet (saas) refers to both the physical and psychological characteristics of Hazrat Mahdi (as), just as if he had seen him, and also provides information about the structure of the society he will inhabit, his political and economic power and authority and the technological means at his disposal. In this hadith, our Prophet (saas) describes Hazrat Mahdi (as) very clearly, supplying certain physical characteristics and various important details about the small group under his command.
One of the details our Prophet (saas) supplies about Hazrat Mahdi (as) is to do with his beard. Our Prophet (saas) has said in several hadith that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will be bearded, and in this hadith he provides detail about the shape of that beard. He says that Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) the texture of his beard will be light, and that the sides will be thin while the lower part is long.
In the same way that the Prophet (saas) has revealed in other Hadith how Hazrat Mahdi (as) will be of average height and dark in other words he reveals that he will have a pinkish skin.
Another important detail our Prophet (saas) supplies about Hazrat Mahdi (as) here is that he will have a very small number of followers, as also revealed in other hadith.
Our Prophet (saas) has stated this in several hadith. For these reasons, Hazrat Mahdi (as) will have no army or community that will later join his spiritual forces and raise their numbers to the thousands. The army that engaged in an intellectual struggle against unbelievers alongside Hazrat Mahdi (as) will always be a very small one.
In this hadith our Prophet (saas) addresses Hazrat Mahdi (as) as Shuayb ibn Saleh. In interpreting this hadith, the great Islamic scholar hazrat Haytami said that the word Shuayb used for Hazrat Mahdi (as) means a small division, meaning that the number of Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) friends waging an intellectual struggle against unbelievers with him will be very low. He also explained that term Ibn Saleh notes that Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) father will also be a very pure person. On the basis of the trustworthy hadith about Hazrat Mahdi (as), who the Prophet (saas) says will wear white clothes in the hadith, Haytami has provided a further piece of information, saying that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will also bear the name of Haris, meaning lion.

OCCULTATION OF IMAM AN IMMENSE DEPRIVATION:
Allah, the Blessed, the High says in the Holy Quran:
"The day when We will call every people with their Imam"
(Bani Israel: 71)
Allah, the High at various places, has promised guidance to the people. To fulfill His promise. He sent Prophets and Messengers (peace be on them all) one after another, who called people towards His religion, recognition and worship. When the Prophethood was completed with the advent of the last prophet Mohammad (s.a.w.s.). He introduced Imamat in the progeny of Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) so that people may turn to them and save themselves from straying and attain eternal happiness. The greatest and the highest bounty of Allah from amongst His bounties is the presence of Imam (a.s.).
No other bounty can match this bounty. Other bounties have reached their relative position due to this bounty, without which all other endowments are imperfect. As it is mentioned in the Holy Quran,
"This day (on the day of Ghadeer) I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion."
(Maaedah: 3)
"And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it)."
Our guidance and salvation depends upon the fourteen infallibles therefore, it is obligatory upon us that we discuss and talk about this bounty.
We would like to make an important point over here. And that is, a believer should never give preference to any bounty over that of the mastership and love of Ahle Bait (a.s.). To consider the gift of 'Mastership of Ahle Bait (a.s.)' as light or equating it with other endowments like wealth, children, business etc. will lead to our destruction and devastation.
The Islamic nations received the distinction of living with the thirteen infallibles and reap benefits from their holy lives. However, the majority breached their covenant with their Lord and the people who actually remained loyal and faithful, could easily be counted on fingers.
Instead of deriving benefits from their existence, the people oppressed and tortured them no end. Their barbarism and brutality had reached to such pits that had they been told to oppress the family of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.), they would have not been able to repress than what they actually did. Notwithstanding such-a disgraceful demonstration of ingratitude and inhumanity, the Merciful Allah did not snatch away the bounty of the physical presence of the infallibles (a.s.) from amongst the people, till the commencement of the occultation of Imam Mahdi (a.s.).
It should be borne in mind that if Allah bestows bounty on any one without he deserving it, then this bounty of Allah is His 'Grace'. If He snatches the bounty after sometime, it is not injustice because he had bestowed it without the person deserving it.
On the contrary, it will be sheer justice. It is not obligatory on Allah that He should always deal with 'Grace'. But on occasions, He deals with His grace and on others, with justice. None of His dealings are devoid of wisdom. It is not necessary that we should . know the prudence behind all His actions. Whatever He does is sheer wisdom, whether we comprehend or not. We can comprehend the wisdom behind any of His action only in the light of the Holy Quran and the traditions. The intellect of men cannot comprehend the rationale behind His actions.
However, from the divine practices of Allah is the practice which has been related in Holy Quran and the traditions is:
"Surely Allah does not change the condition of people until they change their own condition..."
"This is because Allah has never changed a favor which He has conferred upon the people until they change their own condition..."
(Anfaal; 53)
Imam Mohammad Baqir (a.s.) in the exposition of the above Quranic verses says:
It is a definite and certain decree of Allah that when He bestows a bounty on His servant. He does not snatch it till the servant commits a sin which becomes the cause of its deprivation. This is the meaning of Allah's word "Surely Allah does not change the condition of people until they change their own condition".
(Tafseer Noor al-Saqalain, vol.2, p. 488)
In brief, the actions of the people are the cause of Allah, the High, confiscating the bounty from them. Ameerul Momineen Ali Ibn Abi Taalib (a.s.) in the opening sentences of his famous supplication, Dua-e-Kumayl,says:
"0 Allah! Forgive those of my sins which convert the bounties (into calamities)."
The Divine practice shows that Allah's Mercy takes precedence over His Wrath. Therefore, Allah seizes the bounty only when people are ungrateful and unappreciative.
Thus, we are not aware of the actual wisdom behind the occultation of Imam-e-Asr (a.t.f.s.) and according to some traditions. Imam Zaman (a.t.f.s.) will himself give the reason of his occultation when he reappears. However, one of the reasons that we are familiar with is that occultation is due to the anger of Allah on account of the ingratitude of the people. The physical presence of Imam (a.s.) among the people was the greatest bounty of Allah upon the people that was snatched from them. While explaining the importance of the physical presence of Imam (a.s.). Imam Reza (a.s.) says:
"Imamat is complete religion, the foundation of Islam, the basis of all goodness, the discipline of the nation, the path to Allah and the light through which people acquire guidance."
Imam Mohammad Baqi'r (a.s.) says:
"Islam is based on five principles -Namaz, Zakat, Fasting, Ha] and the Mastership (ofAhle Bait (a.s.)) and the manner in which importance has been given to Mastership no other thing has been given such importance."
(al-Kaafi, vol.2, p.l8)
While explaining the following Quranic verse. Imam Mohammad Baqir (a.s.) says:
"Then believe in Allah and His Messenger and the light which We have sent down",
"By Allah in the above verse, 'light' refers to the Imams from the progeny of Mohammad (s.a.w.s.) till the day of Judgment and by Allah these are the 'lights' which Allah has sent. And by Allah, they are the 'lights' in the heavens and on the earth... By Allah the 'light' of Imam in the hearts of the believers, is brighter than the shining sun."
(Tafseer Noor al-Saqalain, vol. 5, p. 321)
When people disregarded this great bounty, Allah, the High concealed Imam-e-Zaman (a.s.) from their eyes. No other calamity can be greater than this concealment of Imam (a.s.) from the sights of the people. The simile of the above is like a child who is left alone in darkness to seek out his way, he is not aware of its beginning nor its end. Resultantly, he will fall a prey for the beast or will become needy of somebody.
Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) says:
"When Allah, the Blessed and the High is angry with His creation then He makes us -the Ahle bait (a.s.), distanced and away from
the people."
(al-Kaafi, Chapter of Occultation, Tradition No. 31)
The presence of Imam (a.s.) among the people to solve their questions and problems is a divine grace of immeasurable magnitude. The concealment of Imam (a.s.) from the sights of the people and their helplessness to reach the Imam (a.s.) is the justice of Allah. Grace takes precedence over justice but the disobedience and ungratefulness of the Muslims has replaced the grace of Allah with His justice.
It is an irrefutable reality that the benefits that we would have enjoyed in the physical presence of Imam (a.s.), are not available now. It is a great loss and nothing can make the loss 'good. We only are to be blamed for the loss and nobody else.
One question arises here: The cause of occultation was due to the disobedience and ingratitude of the earlier Muslims. Then why are we suffering for their action and misdeeds? Is it not injustice?
Answer: Firstly, as we have already mentioned that if Allah has kept His Proof among the people, then it is His grace. And if He conceals Him, then it is His justice.
Secondly, we are also responsible for the occultation of Imam-e-Asr (a.s.) by our conflicts, internal fighting, sins, misdemeanours, etc. These actions are the cause of prolonging the occultation of Imam (a.s.). Imam-e-Zaman (a.s.), in one of his 'Tawqee' to Sheikh Mufeed (a.r.) writes: "If the hearts of our Shias (may Allah give them the taufeeq of His obedience) were united in their fulfillment of the covenant (of Shiasm), then certainly our meeting with them would have not been delayed".
The words of Imam (a.s.) show that our disunity not only makes him sorrowful but is also a cause of prolongation of his occupation and loneliness. In other words, our actions and sins are the cause of sorrow and grief for our Imam (a.s.). If we sincerely love our Imam (a.s.) then let all of us take this oath that we will not commit sins and disobey Allah the Almighty, as these sins deprive us of our Imam and consequently, we lose the greatest bounty of Allah, the High. On the flip side, if we keep our covenant and refrain from sins, we can undo the misdeeds of the earlier Muslims and can obtain the privilege of an earlier meeting with our Imam (a.s.).

PEOPLE IN MANY DIFFERENT CITIES WILL BE ABLE TO HEAR HAZRAT MAHDI (AS) PREACH THE WORD AT THE SAME TIME
Aban ibn Taglib says: I heard Imam Jaffar Sadiq say, It is as if I can see the Qaim [Hazrat Mahdi (as)],... people in all countries WILL SEE HIM WITH THEM IN THEIR COUNTRIES, he will unfurl the standard of Rasulullah (saas),...
(Zamanın İmamını Tanıyalım, Imam Mehdi, Ali İrfan, p. 94)
This hadith reveals that even people living in other cities and countries will see Hazrat Mahdi (as) as if he were next to them and living in their own cities, in other words, that they will listen to him by means of the technology of the time, live television, radio and the Internet. Just like the Prophet (saas), Hazrat Mahdi (as) will spread the moral values of Islam across the world, and the holy banner of our Prophet (saas), which is preserved in Topkapi Palace will be unfurled for the first time since his day. (Hazrat Mahdi (as) will appear in Istanbul, where the banner of our Prophet (saas) and other holy relics are kept.)

THE PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF HAZRAT MAHDI (AS)
ADNAN OKTAR: "Humran ibn A'yan says: Imam Muhammad Bakr said Hazrat Mahdi (as) will have slanting eyes. "Abu Basir says: Imam Muhammad Bakir or Jafar-i Sadk said: There will be a mark between his two shoulder blades." As was the case with our Prophet (saas). A mole, as you know, is something on the surface of the skin. But a second
detail is also provided. "There is a leaf to the left of and below his left shoulder
bone, like a myrtle leaf." In other words, he says there is a second mark, but this will be three-dimensional, in the shape of a tree leaf. This is a glorious detail. "There is a mark reminiscent of a pearl on his cheek, like a star illuminating the Earth." Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rasul Barzanji. He says there is a mole on his cheek. For example, he says, "There is a black mark on Hazrat Mahdi's (as) right leg." On his right leg, that is another detail. Sheikh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Nomani. He says, "There is a scar on his forehead." He says there is a scar on his forehead. "Humran Ibn Ayan says: Imam Muhammad Bakr said: There is a scar on his forehead, and a mole on his face."

Maxim of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.)
(Maxim No. 1)
On His Own Description
I am Mahdi; I am Qaem (the upriser); I am the one who will establish justice on the earth as it has been filled with injustice.
(Maxim No. 2)
On His Own Description
I am the one supported by God on earth; I am the one who shall take revenge on His enemies.
(Maxim No. 3)
On the Description of God's Proofs
God has kept them away from sins, untouched by flaws, purified of corruption and immune to mistakes. God has designated them as the guardians of His Knowledge, trustees of His Wisdom, confidant of His Secrets and supported them with logic.
(Maxim No. 4)
On the Fact that God Is With Them
God is with us and His Being makes us free from want. Truth is with us and we do not fear if the people were to turn their back on us.
(Maxim No. 5)
On Their Righteousness
And they should know that truth is with us and near us, and those who claim the same are dishonest. Except for the misled and those who lead others astray, no one makes such a claim other than us.
(Maxim No. 6)
On Their Being God's Creation
We are the Lord's Creation and others were later remade in our image.
(Maxim No. 7)
On Their Hearts Being the Focus of God's Will
Our hearts bear God's Will. When He Wills, we also will the same.
(Maxim No. 8)
On Affairs Entrusted to Them
Fear God, surrender to us and leave the affairs to us. It is for us to take you away from the spring satiated, as you were taken to the spring by us and do not pursue that which have been concealed from you.
(Maxim No. 9)
On Not Going Astray
Do not go astray from the right path and strengthen your move on this path based on established traditions by befriending us.
(Maxim No. 10)
On Seeking Enlightenment From Others
Seeking enlightenment from other than the prophet's Household (AS) is akin to denying us.
(Maxim No. 11)
On Those Who Do Injustice to Imam Mahdi (AS)
Those who do injustice to me are among the oppressors and subject to God's Curse, because the Almighty says: "Verily God's curse is upon oppressors."
(Maxim No. 12)
On Those Disliked by Imam Mahdi (AS)
The Lord, His angels, prophets and saints dislike those who are disliked by me.
(Maxim No. 13)
On Those Who Deny Imam Mahdi (AS)
There is no kinship between God and others, and those who deny me are not with me.
(Maxim No. 14)
On Those Who Hurt Imam Mahdi (AS)
Only the ignorant and unwise Shiites whose piety is weaker than the wings of a fly hurt me.
(Maxim No. 15)
On Those who Seize His Belongings
A fire blazes in the hearts of those who unjustly confiscate our belongings and will soon be thrown by their face into that fire.
(Maxim No. 16)
On Reasons for Taking Khums
I will not accept your offers but only if you become pure.
(Maxim No. 17)
On the Reason Behind His Occultation
Neither my forefathers swore allegiance to the seditious, nor will I at the time of my reappearance.
(Maxim No. 18)
On the Benefit of His Occultation
Benefiting from me during my occultation is like benefiting from the sun when it is covered in cloud.
(Maxim No. 19)
On Benefiting From Imam Mahdi (AS) During Occultation
I provide the people on the earth with safety and security just as the stars do for those in heavens.
(Maxim No. 20)
On Benefiting From Imam Mahdi (AS) During Occultation
The Lord, through me, keeps misfortunes away from my household and my Shiite followers.
(Maxim No. 21)
On Referring to Narrators of Traditions in His Occultation
In case of new events, refer to narrators of my traditions because they are my proof to you as I am the sign of the Lord's proof to them.
(Maxim No. 22)
On Those Who Claim to Have Seen Imam Mahdi (AS)
Those who claim to have seen me before the appearance of Sufyani and the call from the sky are liars and accusers.
(Maxim No. 23)
On Being Aware of Shiite Followers
I am aware of your situation and nothing remains hidden from me.
(Maxim No. 24)
On Giving Considerations to His Shiite Followers
I have not neglected or forgotten you because if so, you would have been long plagued by endless misfortunes and destroyed by your enemies.
(Maxim No. 25)
On Reappearance Depending on God’s Will
My reappearance depends on the Lord’s Will and this will take place after a long time, darkening of hearts and prevalence of injustice on the earth.
(Maxim No. 26)
On Not Determining the Time of Reappearance
My reappearance depends on the Lord's Will and those who falsely determine a time are liars.
(Maxim No. 27)
On Reappearance Marking the Prevalence of Truth
Upon the Lord's permission, truth will prevail and falsehood will be defeated.
(Maxim No. 28)
On Leaving the Time of Reappearance to the Lord
Do not ask of things that do not benefit you and do not trouble yourself to find something that has not been asked of you.
(Maxim No. 29)
On Duties of Muslims in the Era of Occultation
All of you should try to befriend us and keep away from things disliked and rejected by us, for our order will come without notice when there is no time for repentance and regret will not save you from our retribution.
(Maxim No. 30)
On the Reason for His Delayed Reappearance
If my Shiite followers--may god reward them for their obedience--were to unite to fulfill their pledge, our meeting with them would not have been delayed and they would have met me sooner--a meeting based on their awareness and sincerity toward us.
(Maxim No. 31)
On the Reason for Being Deprived of Meeting Him
Nothing keeps us away from them, except acts disliked and disapproved by me.

On the Earth Being Full of Divine Signs
Verily the earth will not remain devoid of divine signs, whether evident or concealed.

On the Lord's Irrepressible Power
The Lord's power cannot be overwhelmed, His Will is irrepressible and nothing will hinder His Victory.
(Maxim No. 37)
On Seeking Refuge in God
I take refuge in God from blindness after illumination, from deviation after guidance and from destructive conduct and annihilating seditions.
(Maxim No. 38)
On the Purposefulness of Creation
Verily God has not created mankind in vain and did not left them to wander aimlessly.

ALLAH WILL CAUSE ISLAMIC MORALITY TO RULE THE WORLD, EVEN IF THE UNBELIEVERS ARE UNWILLING
THEY DESIRE TO EXTINGUISH ALLAH’S LIGHT WITH THEIR MOUTHS. BUT ALLAH REFUSES TO DO OTHER THAN PERFECT HIS LIGHT, EVEN THOUGH THE UNBELIEVERS DETEST IT. (Surat at-Tawba, 32)
1.They desire to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths... (Surat at-Tawba, 32)
People with materialist and atheist mindsets, who do not believe in Allah, are striving with all their might to prevent Islamic moral values spreading across the world. In the last century in particular, these people took it upon themselves to convince people of a lie that defied both logic and reason, the theory of evolution, that is based on no scientific evidence whatsoever, and the nonsense that the universe came into being spontaneously. Their particular aim was to mobilize all the material and other means at their disposal to hide, in their own eyes, the fact that Allah created the universe out of nothing and to turn people away from belief in Him. They imagined that they could halt the spread and growth of Islam in this way.
2... But Allah refuses to do other than perfect His Light, even though the unbelievers detest it. (Surat at-Tawba, 32)
The fact is that the religion of Islam Allah has chosen and ordained for His servants is the last true deen, that will last until the Judgment Day, and the light of Allah. The century we are living in is the one in which Islam will achieve dominion.
Allah pervades all places, and the light of Allah therefore pervades all places, too. The moral values of Islam are spreading fast in the present day and people across the world are turning to Islam in huge numbers. No matter how unwilling unbelievers may be, and no matter how much they try to stop the spread of the moral values of Islam, Allah will bring His religion to rule the world and perfect His light. Nobody has the power to prevent this.
The world rule of Islamic morality is good news Allah has written in destiny, and He makes this promise to believers in the Qur’an, our true book.

HAZRAT MAHDI (AS) WILL NOT APPEAR WITH CHARACTERISTICS THAT ELIMINATE THE ABILITY TO DISTINGUISH BETWEEN RIGHT AND WRONG
... Some scholars (who have judged on the basis of the external meanings of the hadith) have fallen into doubt looking at the external meaning of those accounts and hadith. They have either denied their truth or else have attributed a nonsensical meaning to them (as if literally describing the impossible), and thus inflict harm (through such metaphysical speculation) on Muslims’ faith.
(Kastamonu Addendum, p. 80)
Bediuzzaman has said that analogical or figurative hadith about such entities of the End Times as the Prophet Jesus (as), Hazrat Mahdi (as) and the Dajjal need to be explained by having their figurative elements clarified. Otherwise, he says, some supposed scholars ignore these hadiths’ figurative meanings and fall into doubt through considering their superficial significance alone or else reject the hadith entirely. Such supposed scholars misinterpret the subject of the Prophet Jesus (as) and Hazrat Mahdi (as), and this causes Muslims lacking in sufficient knowledge of the matter to go astray, as well.
The fact is, however, that the Prophet’s (saas) hadith on all aspects of Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) life are of such a kind as to be accessible to reason and logic. When examined in the light of the information in the Qur’an and other accounts, those accounts on the subject that are figurative or analogical can also be explained in such a way as to leave no doubt as to the coming of the Prophet Jesus (as) and Hazrat Mahdi (as).
In the verses of the Qur’an, Muslims are shown how they should interpret such hadith. We are told that people asked about the Prophet (saas), “Why has an angel not been sent down to him’?” (Surat al-An‘am, 8) But no angel was ever seen at the Prophet’s (saas) head saying, “This person is a prophet.”
The same thing applies to Hazrat Mahdi (as). One of the analogical hadith about Hazrat Mahdi (as) is as follows:
“There will be a cloud just above his head. There will be an angel there who will cry out ‘This is Hazrat Mahdi (as), follow him’…”
(Abu Nuaym)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A cloud will appear above Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) head. An angel will cry out from that cloud: “O People, Allah has chosen the most auspicious of the community of Muhammad as your imam and has sent a caliph (spiritual leader). Make haste to join him. He is in Mecca. He is Hazrat Mahdi (as).”
The cloud mentioned in the hadith is not one that people will be able to see. In the figurative sense, it is a cloud visible to the world of the angels and the djinn. The appearance of such a thing is not beyond the comprehension of angels or djinn. As revealed in other hadith of our Prophet (saas), Hazrat Mahdi (as) is the Mahdi of angels and djinn, as well as of human beings. Allah has sent Hazrat Mahdi (as) as a blessing to three separate worlds. This description is therefore aimed at the world of the djinn, and especially that of the angels. And such a situation is a valid incident for them. When the event described in the hadith takes place and an angel cries out the tidings of Hazrat Mahdi (as), other angels will heed that call, as revealed in other hadith, and will also assist Hazrat Mahdi (as). The hadith of our Prophet (saas) on the subject read:
... Allah will send three thousand angels to help him [Hazrat Mahdi (as)].
(Naim ibn Hammad)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Allah will support him [Hazrat Mahdi(as)] with three thousand angels.
(Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi Alamat al-Mahdi al- Muntadhar, Ahmad bin Hajar Makki, p.41)
It is therefore most important that these hadith should not be interpreted in terms of their superficial meaning. Because it is clear that what is being referred to here is not “an angel appearing in a cloud and speaking to people, and introducing them Hazrat Mahdi (as).” No such thing has ever happened with our Prophet (saas) or any other prophet. The prophets also have never been one hundred percent certain that they are angels; they have always appeared in the form of beautiful human beings. If such a miracle were to take place, everyone would believe unconditionally, accept Hazrat Mahdi (as) and feel no doubts of any kind. But such a thing is completely opposed to the law of Allah, as revealed in the Qur’an. Because if such a thing were to happen regarding Hazrat Mahdi (as), the “test” created for human beings in this world would be eliminated and that, according the Qur’an, is impossible.
Angels will be invisible to human beings. Angels will help Hazrat Mahdi (as) without being visible to him and, by the will of Allah, will inspire in people’s hearts the idea that “This person is Hazrat Mahdi (as).” If, as some people say, angels come down from the sky in a visible form as say “This is Hazrat Mahdi (as). Follow him” and if a hand appears from the cloud and points to Hazrat Mahdi (as), indicating the oath of alegiance should be taken to him and if millions of people witness this but still deny Hazrat Mahdi (as) despite all this clear and incontrovertible evidence, then that means they believe the words of none of the angels. And that is out of the question. The open and explicit conversations of the angels will take place among themselves.
Hazrat Mahdi (as) will go to Mecca and there, after he is forced to by people saying “If you refuse, we will strike you on the neck,” he will accept their oath of allegiance to him between the Corner and the Maqam against his will.
(Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi Alamat al-Mahdi al- Muntadhar, p. 32)
If there were to be angel beside Hazrat Mahdi (as) visible to everyone and calling them to swear allegiance to him, then Hazrat Mahdi (as) himself would be sure that he is Hazrat Mahdi (as). In that event, there would be no need for people to oblige him to agree that he is Hazrat Mahdi (as). Because if there were to be an angel visible beside him, this would ve evident and incontrovertible evidence and Hazrat Mahdi (as) would not be able to object. And in that event, it would be obligatory for people to swear alegiance to him.
Many scholars from various countries will set out, unknown to one another, in order to seek Hazrat Mahdi (as) and 310 people will accompany each scholar… When they ask one another, “Why have you come here?” they will all answer “We seek Hazrat Mahdi (as), who will prevent this corruption and spiritually capture Constantinople, because we have learned his name, those of his mother and father and of his army.’
(Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi Alamat al-Mahdi al- Muntadhar, p. 40)
It is revealed in several places in the hadith of our Prophet (saas) that Islamic scholars will set out to seek Hazrat Mahdi (as). If there were to be an angel visible above Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) head, everyone would immediately know his identity and location. And there would be no need for Islamic scholars to set out to find Hazrat Mahdi (as).
For that reason, and just as with our Prophet (saas), Hazrat Mahdi (as) must not be expected to appear with characteristics that exceed human powers of comprehension. Like all human beings, Hazrat Mahdi is a servant subject to the law of Allah and to the test. Like all the guides to salvation, Allah has strengthened Hazrat Mahdi (as) both physically and mentally, and made him superior to the great majority of people in terms of faith, moral values, intellect and wisdom. However, Hazrat Mahdi (as) will not appear by working miracles as some scholars mistakenly suppose. Muslims will recognize Hazrat Mahdi (as) from the physical features described in the hadith, from his superior qualities, from his being instrumental in Islamic moral values prevailing across the world, from his freeing the world from atheism, materialism and Darwinism, from his performing the prayer (namaz) together with the Prophet Jesus (as), and from the whole world enjoying love, peace, security and happiness, in other words, from Allah assisting him in this blessed duty.
Angels will help Hazrat Mahdi (as) without being visible to him and, by the will of Allah, will inspire in people’s hearts the idea that “This person is Hazrat Mahdi (as).”
