All divine religions believe that a savior and a strong divine hand will come in a part of the human history. He will come to save the world from injustice, oppression and cruelty. All Muslim sects and denominations believe that Imam Mahdi (a.s.) who is from the descendants of the holy Prophet of Islam (pbuh) will fill the world with justice and will rise up to uphold God’s religion and divine right. Even non-Muslims somehow believe in a favorable and luminous future for humanity which is in conformity with our belief in Mahdsim. Thus, this doctrine in which all Muslim believe is not exclusive to Shiites. Of course, there are some differences about the particulars and details of the belief among divine religions and Muslim sects. However, Muslims in general believe unanimously that a time will come when a person from the Prophet's family will rise up and embark on reforming the entire world.

Seven miracles of Imam Sahibul Amr (ATF)

Seven miracles of Imam Sahibul Amr (ATF)

By: Yahya Ali

(Hadiqatush Shiia by: Moqaddas Ardbeli)
Muhammad bin Kufi has reported from (Hazrat) Imam Jafar e Sadiq (AS) that seven men will demand miracle from my son (Hazrat) Sahibul Amr (ATF):

First Miracle:
A man will demand miracle of (Hazrat) Ilyas prophet (AS) “Mavra un nahr”, and Imam (ATF), reciting “Wa man yatawakkal alallah fa howa hasbuh” will go from one edge to the other over the water of Dajlah, and even socks will not get wet. The man, seeing this will say he (ATF) is magician, and will deny the miracle. Imam (ATF) will speak to the water and will say it to drown the man. And he will flounce with restlessness for seven days in the water and will remain alive, and will cry that this is the requital of denying Imam e Zamanah (ATF).

Second Miracle:
An Isfahani will demand from Imam (ATF) the miracle of (Hazrat) Khalil prophet (AS). He (ATF) will order to kindle a great fire, and will enter the fire reciting “Fa subhan allazi beyadehi malakoot kulla shaye wa ilaihay turjaoon”, and will come out of it safely. That reprobate will say he (ATF) is a great magician. Imam (ATF) will order the fire to catch him (the man); the fire will push him towards it. And he will be ruined saying this is the requital of denying Imam e Zamanah (ATF) – the Imam of Era.

Third Miracle:
A man from Faris, when he will see the staff of (Hazrat) Moses (AS) in (Imam Mahdi ATF)’s hand, will demand the miracle of (Hazrat) Moses (AS) from Imam (ATF). Imam (ATF), reciting “wa alqe Asaak fa eza hiya su’banum mubeen”, will throw the staff on the earth and it will become a dragon. That reprobate will say “its strange magic”. Imam (ATF) will order the dragon to swallow the man. The dragon will swallow him, and his head and neck will remain outside (the dragon) from which a voice will come “this is the requital of describing the miracle as a magic and denying Imam e Zamanah (ATF) – the Imam of Era.”

Fourth Miracle:
A man from Azerbaijan will say to imam (ATF) that if you are Imam then order this bone to speak, and show the miracle of (Hazrat) Khizr (AS). Imam (ATF) will pray and the bone will speak: “O’ the Imam of era, pray for my forgiveness”. But that man (reprobate) will say this is an open magic. He will be executed, and he will remain saying, “this is the requital of denying Imam e Zamanah (ATF) – the Imam of Era.”

Fifth Miracle:
A man from Amman will say that iron becomes soft in the hand of (Hazrat) Daoud prophet (AS). If the iron becomes soft in your hand as well I will acknowledge your imamate. Imam (ATF), taking iron in his hand will soften it but the man will deny. He will be killed saying, “This is the requital of denying true Imam (ATF),” by that very iron.

Sixth Miracle:
A man will say to Imam (ATF) arrogantly and boastfully that the knife was not proved effective on the throat of (Hazrat) Ismail (AS), I consider it a miracle of (Hazrat) Ibrahim (AS). Show this miracle. Imam (ATF) will say to him move knife on the throat of so and so. Therefore, the man will move the knife and it will not effective. Even this he will say its a magic. The knife, moving itself on the man’s throat, will kill him.

Seventh Miracle:
An Arab will demand from Imam (ATF) the miracle of his (Imam’s) grandfather Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW). Imam will call a lion and get it bear the witness of his imamate but even then that Arab will deny. Imam (ATF) will order the lion to swallow the Arab. Therefore, he, saying, “This is the requital of denying true Imam (ATF),” will reach in the stomach of the lion.

Imam Mahdi’s Universal Revolution

Imam Mahdi’s Universal Revolution

Logo Pictures, Images and Photos

By: Ibrahim Avich/Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The followers of all religions of the world believe that one day the universe will be filled with corruption and crises and this era will itself be the sign of the coming of the great universal savior. The Muslims believe he will be from the tribe of Bani Hashim and a son of the Holy Prophet of Islam (P.B.) and that his name is “Mahdi.” However, it must be known that according to Islam, Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) is not for Muslims alone. His rise will be not be limited to a certain tribe or nation. He will come to fight all discriminations – racial, religious, ethnic, etc. He is the Mahdi (guide) of the entire universe and the restorer of the religion of Ibrahim (P.B.), Moses (P.B.) and Jesus (P.B.).
The question may arouse is that : why none of the prophets through history had the chance to rule over all the world but a person from descendant of a prophet will achieve such a success? We must say, as an answer, that human communities have gradually developed throughout history. They have grown from the level of the family to small tribes and from there to great universal civilizations. It is based on a development that the mission of the divine prophets has become more and more vast. There are two reasons why the universal government has not and cannot materialize before the coming of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance): the human civilizations not being at the right level and the absence of sufficient knowledge and technology. Therefore, two conditions must be met before this promise can be fulfilled. Firstly, the universe must be connected in terms of communications in a way that it becomes like a global village. Secondly, the people of the world must reach a potential moral level to be able to bear the load of divine laws.
With respect to the era of the Internet and the development of globalization, the first condition has to some extent materialized. About the second condition, however, I must say that mankind is still not ready to bear the great and precious ornament of God.
At this point the question comes to mind that when are the people going to be morally ready for the acceptance of God’s representative, since the world falls into more and more corruption as time passes. The answer is that mankind at this point is experiencing the results of materialistic and manmade government systems. As humanity eventually looses hope in secular government systems, the crises caused by modern technologies along with the absence of spirituality, the mounting of moral and ethical perversions and problems in the ecosystem will cause people to believe that manmade codes of ethics cannot help achieve prosperity. Then, most people are tired of human plans and the human community, which consists mostly of the oppressed, wishes for justice and truth, but since they have lost hope from the earth, they will be looking in the heavens. When humanity reaches this situation, the conditions are met for the reappearance of the great universal savior, the Promised Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance). In other words, he will come at a time when even the evil is tired of committing evil.
Of course, the coming of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) will not in itself cause change in that situation. He will rise with 313 of his companions, plan an armed revolt, destroy the oppressors, and for the first time in history, the entire globe will be under the flag of Islam and the ground will be prepared for the flourishing of all aspects of human civilizations. According to the traditions, the level of people’s knowledge at that time compared to that of our time, is like the level of knowledge of the people of the stone age compared to our time. People will be able to easily travel between planets. The people of that time will be kind, warm, passionate and ethical in their behavior and there will be peace and security everywhere.
In his book The Power of Self-Conscience Joseph Marne, an American psychologist, says man has not yet used the potential abilities located on the right side of the brain. In his view, the use of this section of the brain by the public is possible only by reaching a certain level of justice and truthfulness. Therefore, bases on God’s general rule that mater is under the control of the soul, we know that until man does not reach its spiritual perfection, he will not be able to achieve perfectness in his material life.

The Reward of Loving Ahlul-Bayt(A.S.)

The Reward of Loving Ahlul-Bayt(A.S.)

Star Wars Darth Vader Lightsaber Duel Smiley Smilie Emoticon Animation Animated Animations Gif

I found the following astonishing tradition in one of the most famous Tafsir book of the Sunni brothers, that is, "Tafsir al-Kabir", by Fakhr al-Razi who is a leading Sunni scholar with multiple specialties in Tafsir, Fiqh, and theology. The full address of the document is given at the end. I have provided Arabic text for each sentence of this tradition. This tradition can also be found in other Sunni commentary books of Quran, "Tafsir al-Kashshaf," written by al-Zamakhshari, as well as "Tafsir al-Tha'labi."
Before going over the text of the tradition, it is important to point out that a true love is always accompanied by obedience. A person who is crazy about somebody, does every thing to satisfy the lover, and does not allow himself to disobey the one who loves. That is why the "true love" is necessary and sufficient. A true love affects every single action of human being and directs it to a special direction in harmony with the one who loves. Thus anyone who claims to love the Prophet and his Ahlul-Bayt (peace be upon them all), but he insists in disobeying them, is simply a liar.
After giving the text of the tradition I shall quote the related verse of Quran under whose commentary this tradition was mentioned. I will also present some other traditions transmitted by the Sunnis which clearly specify the individuals whose love is obligatory.
He who dies with love of the family of Muhammad(S.A.W.) is a Martyr.
And behold! He who dies with love of the family of Muhammad(S.A.W.) is forgiven.
And more! The one who dies with love of the family of Muhammad(S.A.W.) is died repented.
Lo! He who dies with love of the family of Muhammad(S.A.W.) is died as a believer with a COMPLETE belief.
And no doubt! The one who dies with love of the family of Muhammad(S.A.W.), the angle of death gives him the glad tiding of Paradise, and so do the two angels who question him (Munkar & Nakeer).
And verily he who dies with love of the family of Muhammad(S.A.W.), will be led toward the Paradise as the bride is led to the house of her husband.
Behold! And he who dies with love of the family of Muhammad(S.A.W.), for him there will open two gates in his grave toward the Paradise.
Lo! And the one who dies with love of the family of Muhammad(S.A.W.), Allah will make his grave a sacred place of visit for the angels of mercy.
And verily he who dies with love of the family of Muhammad(S.A.W.), has died on Sunnah.
And no doubt! The one who dies with the HATE of the family of Muhammad(S.A.W.), will arrive in the day of judgment while it is printed on his forehead that he is desperate from the Mercy of Allah.
Behold! He who dies with the HATE of the family of Muhammad(S.A.W.), has died unbeliever.
And verily he who dies with the HATE of the family of Muhammad(S.A.W.), will never hear the smell of Paradise.
Sunni references:
· Tafsir al-Kabir, by Fakhr al-Din Muhammad(S.A.W.) Ibn Umar al-Razi, Pub. in Egypt (1357/1938), under commentary of verse 42:23, Part 27, pp. 165-166.
· Tafsir al-Kashshaf, by al-Zamakhshari
· Tafsir al-Kabir, by al-Tha'labi
Fakhr al-Razi and others mentioned the above tradition under the commentary of the following verse of Quran, in which Allah tell his Messenger:
"(O Prophet) tell (people) I don't ask you any wage (in return for my prophethood) except to love my near kin. And if anyone earns any good We shall give Him an increase of good (in return for it)" (Quran 42:23).
It has been widely reported by the Sunni commentators of the Holy Quran that:
Ibn Abbas narrated: When the above verse (42:23) was revealed, the companions asked: "O' the Messenger of Allah! Who are those near kin whose love Allah has made obligatory for us?" Upon that the Prophet (S.A.W.) said: "Ali, Fatimah, and their two sons." He (S.A.W.) repeated this sentence thrice.

13. Many others such as Ibn Abi Hatam, al-Tabarani, etc.
Then the Prophet (S.A.W.) continued:
"Verily Allah has dedicated my wage (of prophethood) to love of my Ahlul-Bayt, and I shall question you about it on the day of judgment."
Sunni references:
· Dhakha'ir al-Uqba, by Muhibbuddin al-Tabari, p26
· al-Sirah, by al-Mala
In another tradition, we read:
The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.) said: "I advice you to be kind to my Ahlul-Bayt for verily I will dispute you about them on the day of Judgment, and whoever I dispute him shall enter the Fire." He (S.A.W.) also said: "One who regards me by regarding my Ahlul-Bayt, he has taken a promise from Allah (to enter the Paradise)."

· al-Sirah, by al-Mala
· al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Ch. 11, section 1, p231
Furthermore, al-Kateeb and Ibn Hajar narrated on the authority of Anas Ibn Malik saying:
The Prophet (S.A.W.) said: "The title of the Book (Saheefah) of believer is love of Ali Ibn Abi Talib."
Sunni references:
· Tarikh, by al-Khateeb al-Baghdadi
· al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Ch. 9, section 2, p193
In the above tradition, "The Book of believer" refers to the way a believer conducts the affairs, i.e., his daily life, and his diary.
On the commentary of the Quranic verse: "Lo! those who believe and do good, the Beneficent will appoint for them love (Quran 19:96)," al-Hafidh al-Salafi wrote: Muhammad(S.A.W.) Ibn Hanafiyyah said: "There will not be a believer unless in whose heart love of Ali and his family exists." In this connection, al-Bayhaqi, Abu al-Shaikh, and al-Daylami reported that the Messenger of Allah said: "A servant (of God) will not be a (true) believer unless he loves me more than his own soul, and loves my progeny more than his own soul and his own family." See al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Ch. 11, section 1, pp 261-262 quoted from al-Hafidh al-Salafi, al-Bayhaqi, Abu al-Shaikh, and al-Daylami).
al-Tirmidhi and Ahmad narrated:
The Messenger of Allah said: "He who loves me and loves these two: al-Hasan and al-Husain, and loves their father and mother, he will be with me in Paradise."
Sunni reference:
· Sahih al-Tirmidhi, v5, p641
· Musnad Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, on the authority of Imam Ali (AS)
· Fadha'il al-Sahaba, by Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, v2, p693, Tradition #1185
· al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Ch. 11, section 1, p264
It is also narrated that:
The Messenger of Allah said: "Verily the prosperous and the only prosperous and the true prosperous is he who loves Ali in his lifetime and in his hereafter."
Sunni reference:
· Fadha'il al-Sahaba, by Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, v2, p658, Tradition #1121

· Majma' al-Zawa'id, by al-Haythami, v9, p132
· Sharh Ibn Abil Hadid, v2, p429
Sunni scholars also narrated that Imam al-Hasan Ibn Ali (AS) said the following in a discourse which he delivered on the martyrdom of Imam Ali:
"... I am among Ahlul-Bayt whom Allah has made their love obligatory for any Muslim when He revealed to His Prophet (S.A.W.): "Say: I don't ask you any wage except to love my near kin. And if anyone earns any good We shall give Him an increase of good (Quran 42:23)." Thus earn the good deed through loving us Ahlul-Bayt."
Sunni references:
· al-Mustadrak, by al-Hakim, "Chapter of understanding the virtues of companions," v3, p172
· al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Ch. 11, section 1, p259
· Many others such as al-Bazzar, al-Tabarani, etc.
Furthermore, it is narrated from Ibn Abbas:
Ibn Abbas said: "The good deed in the verse: 'And if anyone earns any good We shall give Him an increase of good (Quran 42:23)' is the love of family (Aal) of the Muhammad(S.A.W.) (S.A.W.)."
Sunni references:
· Musnad Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, as mentioned in:
· al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Ch. 11, section 1, p259
Sunni traditionists also narrated that:
After the murder of al-Husain when his family were taken prisoners and were moved to Damascus, a man in the city (who among others was looking at the passing of prisoners in the city) said to Zain al-Abideen (Imam Ali Ibn al-Husain) that "Praise be to Allah who destroyed you and made you helpless and cut the root of sedition." On that, Zain al-Abideen said: "Didn't you read 'Tell I don't ask you any wage except to love my near kin'?" The man answered: "Are you those?" He (Zain al-Abideen) said: "Yes."
Sunni references:
· Tafsir Ibn Kathir (complete version), v4, p112, under commentary of verse 42:23 of Quran
· al-Tabarani, as mentioned in:
· al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Ch. 11, section 1, p259
In contrary to all above traditions, Yusuf Ali has a very strange commentary for the verse 42:23. He wrote:
Yusuf Ali> No sort of tangible reward does the Prophet of Allah ask for
Yusuf Ali> proclaiming the Glad Tidings of Allah. But at least he has the
Yusuf Ali> right to ask that his kith and kin should not persecute him and
Yusuf Ali> put all sorts of obstacles in his way, as did the Quraish
Yusuf Ali> against the holy Prophet. (Yusuf Ali's commentary of 42:23)
What Yusuf Ali implied was that, by the above verse, the Prophet was asking his kin not to prosecute him and they should love his kin, i.e., the Prophet. The fact is that the above mentioned traditions of the Prophet regarding the revelation of verse 42:23, contradict what Yusuf Ali commented. I wonder if we Should take the opinion of the Prophet or the opinion of Yusuf Ali?! It is noteworthy that the above mentioned traditions were narrated by the prominent Sunni traditionists through various transmitters. Yusuf Ali was not a traditionist nor do Sunnis consider his commentary an authoritative one.
Besides, we can prove logically that Yusuf Ali's commentary is incorrect. "Those of near kin" are the kin of the Prophet himself. Because Prophet Muhammad(S.A.W.) is only one person. If Allah wanted to say "Love the Prophet because he is your kin", He could say so, and He would not use "Those of near kin". Moreover, from the verse it is clear that Allah was not addressing non-Muslims, because the verse is about his wage in return for his prophethood. Thus those unbelievers (among his kin or else) who do not recognized him as a prophet, were not being addressed. What kind of wage could the Prophet expect from an unbeliever (among his kin or else) who do not recognize him as a prophet?!
Thus they are Muslims who are being addressed by the verse. Now, if Yusuf Ali meant that the verse was addressing those Muslims who were his kin, then I would like to ask: Who among the near kin of the Prophet who was Muslims but tried to prosecute the Prophet? The answer is Non. If you think otherwise, please present your evidence from the history of the life of the Prophet (S.A.W.).
Therefore, the Yusuf Ali's commentary is neither in harmony with the above-mentioned Sunni traditions in this regard, nor in harmony with logic.
I do not intend to discuss all the mistakes which exist in the Yusuf Ali's works. I myself have found some trivial mistakes in his translation of Quran, and there is even a book named "Discussion on the errors of Yusuf Ali", (Paperback, $12.00 in the United States) which discusses some of his errors. Although I do not intend to fully discredit his works, it would be beneficial to mention his translation of a verse of Quran in connection with the current topic, and then compare it to other translations. This verse is very similar to the above-mentioned verse of Quran (42:23). Allah, to whom belong might and majesty, similarly said:
"(O Prophet) tell (people) whatever I asked you as wage (in return for my prophethood) is in the benefit of you (people)" (Quran 34:47).
Here is the Pickthall's translation:
Pickthall> "Say: Whatever reward I might have asked of you is yours"
Pickthall> (34:47).
Now, let us look at the Yusuf Ali's translation:
Yusuf Ali> "Say: No reward do I ask of you; it is (all) in your interest"
Yusuf Ali> (34:47).
One can see that the translation of Yusuf Ali provides meaning quite contradictory to the others. In the translation of the above verse, Yusuf Ali states that the Prophet did not ask any wage. By that, Yusuf Ali contradicted his own translation of the other mentioned verse (42:23) where he states the Prophet did, in fact, ask for the wage:
Yusuf Ali> "Say: No reward do I ask of you for this except the love of
Yusuf Ali> those near of kin." (42:23)
There is no doubt that the reward of the Prophet is with Allah. However, with the above order of Allah, the Prophet did ask People to love his family as his wage. Such request is, in fact, for the benefit of people as verse 34:47 testifies. The verses of Holy Quran explain one another. More Surprisingly, there is a third verse with another wording which implies that the benefit that people get by fulfilling the Prophet's request (i.e., affection and devotion to Ahlul-Bayt) is that they will be led to the path (Sabeel) of Allah:
"Say: I ask of you no reward for it except that one who wishes, may adopt a Path (Sabeel) toward his Lord." (Quran 25:57)
Pickthall's translation:
Pickthall> "Say: I ask of you no reward for this save that whoso will, may
Pickthall> choose a Way unto his Lord." (25:57)
Putting verse 25:57 beside 42:23 and 34:47 gives evidence to the fact that each member of Ahlul-Bayt is the Right Path (Sabeel) toward Allah, and the way toward His satisfaction. The Right Path of Allah is no more than one even though it manifested in a sequence of divinely appointed leaders. As such, each of these leaders were the unique Path (Sabeel) of Allah in their own time, and through whom people can attain protection against disagreement in religious matters. In fact, the Messenger of Allah confirmed the above conclusion from the latter verse. Ibn Sa'd and Ibn Hajar recorded that:
The Messenger of Allah said: "Me and my Ahlul-Bayt are a tree in Paradise whose branches came to this world (Dunyaa). Thus whoso will, may choose a Path unto his Lord (by taking a branch and reaching to the stem in Paradise)."
Sunni references:
· al-Tabaqat, by Ibn Sa'd
· Sharaf al-Nubuwwah, by Muhibbuddin al-Tabari, on the authority of Abu Sa'id
· al-Sawa'iq al-Muhriqah, by Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Ch. 11, section 1, p231
The above underlined part of the Hadith of the Prophet (S.A.W.) is the Quranic verse mentioned above (25:57). The true love for Ahlul-Bayt will, in fact, oblige us to follow their Right Path which guarantees the human prosperity in this world as well the Paradise in the world after.

Love of Ahlul Bait leads to Paradise

Love of Ahlul Bait leads to Paradise

He said: Abu Ja'far Muhammad b. Umar al-Zayyat informed us that Ali b. Ismail reported to him from Muhammad b. Khalaf, who reported from al-Husain al-Ashqar, who reported from Qais, from Laith b. Abi Sulaim, from Abdul Rahman b. Abi Laila, reporting from Al-Husain b. Ali, peace be upon him, that the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said:
"Remain steadfast on our love, the Ahlul bayt. For he who meets Allah with our love, will enter the Paradise with our intercession. By He Who controls my soul, a servant (of Allah) does not benefit from his deeds except by knowing us (and our stature)."
The system of Islam
He said: Abu Bakr Muhammad b. Umar al-Jea'bi reported from Ishaq b. Muhammad, who reported from Zaid b. al-Muaddal, from Saif b. Umar, from Muhammad b. Kuraib, from his father, from Abdullah b. Abbas that the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said:
"Listen and obey those whom Allah has granted the authority - for that is the system of Islam."
On Ahlul Bait
And with the same chain of narration, it is reported from Abul Qasim, Muhammad b.Ali, Ibn al-Hanafiyya, that the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said:
"He who does not have mercy on our young ones, and shows no reverence to our old ones and does not recognize our rights, is not from us."
Helping Ahlul Bait with one's tongue
He said: Ali-Sharif Abu Muhammad al-Hasan b. Hamza al-Tabari reported to me from Abul Hasan Ali b. Hatim al-Qazwaini, who reported from Abul Abbas Muhammad b. Ja'far al-Makhzoomi, who reported from Muhammad b. Shammoon al-Basri, from Abdullah b. Abdul Rehanm, reported from al-Husain b. Zayd from Ja'far b. Muhammad (AS) from his father (AS) who said:
"Whoever helped us with his tongue, against our enemy, Allah will let him speak out his argument when he will stand before Him (i.e. on the Day of Judgement)."
Love Ahlul Bait with your heart and help with your hand & tongue
He said: Al-Sharif Abu Muhammad al-Hasan b. Hamza reported to me from Ahmad b. Abdullah, from his grandfather Ahmad b. Abdullah, who reported from his father, who reported from Dawood b. al-No'man, from Amru b. Abu al-Miqdam, from his father who reported that al-Hasan b. Ali (AS) said:
"He who loves us with his heart, and helps us with his hands and tongue, will be with us (in Paradise) at the same lodging. And he who loves us with his heart and helps us with his tongue will be at a lower level. And he who loves us with his heart, but does not put his hand and tongue to use for us, he will be in Paradise." (i.e. in an ordinary station).
Adhering to the Ahlul Bait
He said: Abu Bakr, Muhammad b. Umaral-Je'abi reported from Ali. b. Ismail, who reported from Muhammad b. Khalaf, who reported from Husain al-Ashqar, who reported from Qais, from Laith b. Abi Sulaim, from Abdul Rehman b. Abu Layla, from al-Husain b. Ali b. Abi Talib who said:
The Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said: "Adhere yourselves to our love, the Ahlul Bait, for surely, whoever meets Allah, having love for us (in his heart) he shall enter Paradise with our intercession. And By Him Who controls my spirit, a servant (of Allah) benefits nothing from his (good) deeds, unless he has recognized our Truth."
The Prophet's prayers for his descendants
He said: Abu Bakr Muhammad b. Umar al-Je'abi reported to me from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Ziyad, who reported from al-Hasan b. Ali b. Affan, from Yazid b. Harun, from Hamid, from Jabir b. Abdillah al-Ansari who said:
Once, the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, came upon us holding the hands of al-Hasan and al-Husain, peace be upon them and said: "These are my two sons, who I have brought up from infancy and for whom I have prayed to Allah as they grew up. I prayed for them for three things, out of which He granted two and restrained one. I beseeched Allah to keep them pure and cleansed from all evil and make them chaste. Allah granted my prayer. And I prayed that they and their progeny be guarded together with their followers, from the hellfire. Allah granted my prayer. And I asked Allah that the Ummah be united in their love for them." He said: "O Muhammad! I have decreed and I have determined. A group from among your Ummah will remain faithful to the covenant you have made with the Jews, the Christians and the Magians and will break your covenant regarding your descendants. And I have so decreed that, whoever does that, shall not have a place at My honoured station, nor will I allow him to enter My Paradise, nor shall I have an eye of mercy upon him on the Day of Judgement."
Ahlul Bait, the key to all wisdom
He said: Abul Qasim Ja'far b. Muhammad reported to me from his father, from Sa'd b.Abdillah, from Ahmed b. Muhammad b. Isa, from al-Hasan b. Mahboob, from Abu Ayyub al-Khazzaz, from Muhammad b. Muslim, who reported that:
Abu Ja'far Muhammad b. Ali, peace be upon him said: "People (who have discarded us) have no truth, nor any propriety, except that which they have learnt from us Ahlul Bait. None from them can judge truly or with justice, unless he has taken its guidance from Amirul Mo'mineen Ali b. Abi Talib, peace be upon him, the key, the gate, the path blazer, the way. And when they are confused in any matter, the fault is theirs if they commit an error; and if they decide rightly, the credit goes to Ali b. Abi Talib (AS)."
Allah will not accept acts of worship from one who has no love for the authority of Ahlul Bait
He said: Abul Qasim Ja'far b. Muhammad reported to me from his father, from Sa'd b. Abdillah, from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Isa, from al-Hasan b. Mahboob, from Hisham, from Murazim who reported from al-Sadiq, Ja'far b. Muhammad, peace be upon him, who reported that:
The Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said: "What has happened to some people in my Ummah, who become cheerful and jubilant when Ibrahim and the progeny of Ibrahim are mentioned to them; but when I and my progeny are mentioned, they detest it and frown at it! By He Who sent me as a truthful Prophet, if a person dies after having performed the (good) deeds of 70 Prophets, but he has no liking for the authority of our Ahlul Bait, Allah will not accept his obligatory or voluntary acts of worship."
The revelation descended in our homes and from us the knowledge reached the people. . .
He said: Abul Hasan Ahmad b. Muhammad b. al-Hasan reported to me from his father, from Sa'd b. Abdillah, from Ahmad b Muhammad b. Isa, from al-Hasan b. Mahboob from Yahya b. Abdillah b. al-Hasan who said:
I heard Ja'far b. Muhammad, peace be upon him, say in the presence of people of Kufa: "It is surprising to hear people claim that they have derived all their knowledge from the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progency, and having acted accordingly, they are guided. And they believe that we, Ahlul Bait, have not derived his knowledge, nor have we been guided by him, in spite of being his family members and descendants! The revelation descended in our homes, and from us the knowledge reached the people. Do you believe that they knew and were guided, while we remained ignorant and lost? This is indeed impossible."
Whoever hates the Ahlul Bait, Allah shall resurrect him as a follower of Judaism
He said: Abul Husain Muhammad b. al-Mudhaffer al-Bazzaz reported to me from Abu Abdillah Ja'far b. Muhammad al-Hasani, who reported from Idris b. Ziyad al-Kafrsosi, who reported from Hannan b. Sudair, from Sudaif al-Makki who reported from Muhammad b. Ali, peace be upon hm (commenting that I have not seen any believer of Muhammad to match his excellence) who reported from Jabir b. Abdillah al-Ansari, who said:
Once, the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, caused an announcement to be made among the Muhajir and Ansar, so they assembled with their weapons. The Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, climbed the pulpit, praised Allah and expressed his gratitude to Him. Then he said: "O Muslims, whoever hates us, the Ahlul Bait, Allah shall resurrect him on the day of Judgement as a follower of Judaism." Jabir said: I stood up and asked: "O messenger of Allah, will it happen even if I testify that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah?" He said: "If he testified that there is no god but Allah, that saved him from his blood being spilled and from paying the tax submissively and with humility."
Then the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny said: "Whoever hates us, the Ahlul Bait, Allah shall resurrect him, as a follower of Judaism on the Day of Judgement, and if he ever met Dajjal, he would be his partisan. And, even if he did not meet him (i.e. Dajjal), he would be resurrected in his grave, so that he believes in him (i.e. Dajjal). Surely, Allah made the whole of my Ummah appear before me while still in dust, and taught me their names, the way he taught all the names to Adam. So, standard bearers passed by me and I prayed for forgiveness, in favour of Ali and his followers.
Hannan b. Sudair said: I narrated this Tradition before Abu Abdillah Ja'far b.Muhammad, peace be upon him, and he said: "Did you yourself hear this from Sudaif?" He said: "It is now seventh night since I heard from him." He (i.e. Abu Abdillah) said: "I never thought that this narration ever escaped the lips of my father to anyone."
Acts and deeds shall not benefit except when coupled with wilayah
He said: Abu Nasr Muhammad b. al-Husain al-Muqri reported from Abu Abdillah al-Husain b. Muhammad al-Bazzaz, who reported from Abu Abdillah Ja'far b. Abdillah al-Alawi al-Muhammadi, who reported from Yahya b. Hashim al-Ghassani, from Muammar b. Sulaiman, from Laith b. Abi Sulaim, from Ata b. Abi Rabah, from Ibn Abbas who said:
The Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny said: "Cling steadfastly to the affection for us Ahlul Bait. For whoever, meets Allah with our love in his heart shall enter Paradise by our intercession. By He Who controls Muhammad's breath, the acts and deeds of a servant shall not benefit him, except when coupled with our recognition and our love."
Isa b. Abdillah is from us - Ahlul Bait
He said: Abul Qasim Ja'far b. Muhammad - may Allah bless him with mercy, reported to me from his father, from Sa'd b. Abdillah from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Isa, from Musa b. Talha, from Abu Muhammad brother of Yunus b. Ya'qoob, from his brother Yunus, who said:
I was at Medinah, when Ja'far b. Muhammad, peace be upon him, met me in one of its lanes. He said: "O Yunus, go to the door for a person from us Ahlul Bait is at the door." He said: "I went towards the door and found Isa b. Abdillah sitting there. So, I said: "Who are you." He replied: "I am from Qum." He said: "No sooner he said that, then Abu Abdillah appeared on a donkey and he entered the house riding the donkey. Then attending to us, he said: "Come through." Then he said: "O Yunus, I believe you were not prepared to grant when I said that Isa. b. Abdillah is from us, Ahlul Bait?" I said: "It is so, may I be your ransom. For Isa b. Abdillah is from people of Qum, how can he be one of you Ahlul Bait?" He said: "O Yunus, Isa b. Abdillah is from us as long as he lives, and he shall be from us after he has died."

Who is the Mahdi of Muhammad’s Progeny?

Who is the Mahdi of Muhammad’s Progeny?

By: Sayyid Rida' Husayni Nasab
Reply: Among the issues on which the heavenly religions have consensus of opinion is the “Global Reformer” who shall appear at the end of time. Not only the Muslims but also the Jews and Christians are waiting for the advent of this man who will spread justice in the world. A survey of the Old and New Testaments will make this fact clear.[57][61]
In this regard, muhaddithun narrate that the Holy Prophet (S) has said:
بيتي أهل من رجلاً الله لبعث يوم إلاّ الدَّهر من يبق لم لو
جَوْرًا. مُلِئْت كما عدلاً يَمْلأها
Even if only one day is to remain in this world, God will surely send a man from my Ahl al-Bayt who shall fill the world with justice and equity just as it has been filled with oppression.[58][62]
Therefore, as it has been mentioned earlier, the belief in the coming of such a reformer is commonly acknowledged by the authorities of the heavenly religions, and by many traditions regarding the Promised Mahdi presented in the Sahih and Musnad books of the Ahl as-Sunnah. The muhaddithun and scholars of the two Islamic sects (Shi‘ah and Sunni) have written a good many books regarding him (‘a).[59][63]
The compendium of these traditions have specified his characteristics and salient features in such a manner that they are exactly applicable to the direct son of Imam Hasan al-‘Askari (‘a),[60][64] the 11th Imam followed by the Shi‘ah. According to these traditions, his name is the same as that of the Holy Prophet (S);[61][65] he is the twelfth Imam,[62][66] and he is from the progeny of Husayn ibn ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib (‘a).[63][67]
By Divine Command, the Promised Mahdi was born in 255 AH and he is now living like other people, though in a state of occultation {ghaybah}.
It is necessary to note that such a long life is incongruent neither with science and learning, nor with the logic of revelation. Today science is at the threshold of increasing man’s longevity, believing that man has the ability to live for ages and ages, and if one remains safe from defects and vulnerabilities, the prospect for a long life will be brighter. History has also recorded the names of those who had lived to a very great age.
Concerning Prophet Nuh (Noah) (‘a), the Glorious Qur’an says:

﴾عَامًا خَمْسِينَ إِلاَّ سَنَةٍ أَلْفَ فِيهِم فَلَبِثَ ﴿

“And he remained with them (his people) for a thousand-less-fifty years.”[64][68]
And regarding Hadrat Yunus (Jonah) (‘a), it says:

﴾ يُبْعَثُونَ يَوْمِ إِلى بَطْنِهِ فى لَلَبِثَ الْمُسَبِّحِين٭ مِنَ كَانَ أَنَّهُ فَلَولا ﴿

“And had he not been one of those who celebrate Allah’s glory, he would have surely remained in its belly till the day they will be resurrected.”[65][69]
Similarly, from a Qur’anic viewpoint and in the view of all Muslims of the world, Hadrat Khidr (‘a) and Hadrat ‘Isa (Jesus) (‘a) are still alive and they will continue to live.

Why is the station of Imamate {imamah} higher than that of prophethood {nubuwwah}?

By: Sayyid Rida' Husayni Nasab
Reply: First, we will examine the precise meaning of three of the words we find in the Qur’an and the hadith and these are: prophethood {nubuwwah}, messengership {risalah} and Imamate {imamah} so as to clarify why the station of imamah is higher than each of the other two mentioned positions.

1. The station of nubuwwah
The word nabi {prophet} is derived from the word naba’ which means an important piece of news. Therefore, the literal meaning of nabi is “bearer of very important news” or “announcer of very important news”.[1][346]
The word nabi which is equivalent to the English word “prophet” is used by the Qur’an to mean a person who receives divine revelation from God, the Exalted, through various means, and conveys to people the news revealed to him without the intervention of other human beings. Scholars define this word as follows:
البشر من وساطة بلا الله من مؤدّ إنّه

“A prophet is a person who conveys the divine revelation to the people without the intervention of other human biengs.”[2][347]
On this basis, the nature of the duties of a nabi is confined to receiving revelation and conveying to the people what is revealed to him. The Glorious Qur’an says in this regard:
فَبَعَثَ اللّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ مُبَشِّرينَ وَ مُنْذِرينَ

“Then Allah sent the prophets as bearers of good news and as warners.”[3][348]

2. The station of risalah
In the lexicon of revelation, the word rasul is referred to a prophet who, apart from receiving the revelation and conveying it to the people, shoulders the burden of conveying a divine message {risalah} and has the responsibility of delivering the message to the people. In this regard, the Glorious Qur’an says:
فَإِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّما عَلىٰ‏ رَسُولِنَا الْبَلاغُ الْمُبينُ

“But if you turn your backs, then know that Our Apostle’s duty is only to communicate in clear terms.”[4][349]
Therefore, the position of risalah is another station which is given to a nabi. In other words, each of the concepts of nubuwwah and risalah points to one of the peculiarities of the prophets who receive revelation from God in that they are called anbiya’ (plural form of nabi) because they receive divine revelation and bear news. And they are called rusul (plural form of rasul) because they have the responsibility of delivering the message {risalah}.
From what have been stated so far, we can conclude that so long as prophets hold the position of nubuwwah and risalah, they are only guides who make known to people what is lawful {halal} and what is unlawful {haram} and show them the ways to attain felicity and prosperity, and they have no responsibility except reporting what is revealed to them by God or delivering a message.

3. The station of imamah
The station of divine imamah, from a Qur’anic perspective, is different from any of the two stations mentioned earlier and it is identical with broader discretion and practice in the domain of administering the society and leading the people.
Now, in the light of the luminous Qur’anic verses, we shall introduce some clear proofs in this regard:
1. Concerning the bestowal of the station of imamah on a revered prophet, viz. Ibrahim al-Khalil (Prophet Abraham) (‘a), the Holy Qur’an thus states:
وَإِذِ ابْتَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ رَبُّهُ بِكَلِمَاتٍ فَأَتَمَّهُنَّ قَالَ إِنِّي جَاعِلُكَ لِلنَّاسِ إِمَامًا قَالَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِي

“And when his Lord tested Abraham with certain words, and he fulfilled them, He said, ‘I am making you the Imam of mankind. Said he, ‘And from among my descendants?’”[5][350]
In the light of this Qur’anic passage, we realize two facts:
a. The quoted verse clearly states the difference between the concept of imamah and that of each of the two concepts of nubuwwah and risalah because many years prior to a series of divine tests, one of which was the decision to sacrifice his own son (Isma‘il), Ibrahim (‘a) attained the station of nubuwwah, and we will prove this fact in the following:
We all know that God, the Exalted, granted two sons (Isma‘il and Ishaq) to Ibrahim (‘a) when he was old as he has been quoted by the Glorious Qur’an as saying:
الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي وَهَبَ لِي عَلَىٰ الْكِبَرِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ

“All praise belongs to Allah, who, despite {my} old age, gave me Ishmael and Isaac.”[6][351]
Now, it is clear that it was prior to a series of hard divine trials one of which was the decision to sacrifice Isma‘il (‘a) that God, the Exalted, bestowed the station of imamah upon Ibrahim (‘a) during the autumn of his life.
That is, it was during the last phase of his life that he became a leader over the people, whereas he held the station of nubuwwah a long time earlier; for, he used to receive divine revelation, which is a sign of nubuwwah before he had children {dhurriyyah}.[7][352]
b. It can also be inferred from the verse, “And when his Lord tested Abraham with certain words…” that the station of divine imamah, i.e. governing the society and leading the people is higher than the station of nubuwwah or the station of risalah; for, as stated by the Qur’anic verses, while Hadrat Ibrahim (‘a) was holding the station of nubuwwah and the station of risalah, he was required to pass difficult tests before the station of imamah was granted to him.
The reason is clear; apart from the responsibility of receiving revelation and delivering the message, the station of divine imamah also includes the supervision of society, leadership of the ummah and proper administration of the affairs of people for the purpose of reaching the pinnacle of perfection and felicity. So, it is natural that this station has a peculiar importance and grandeur and its attainment is impossible without passing a series of difficult tests.
2. It is clear from the previous verse that God, the Exalted, granted the station of imamah and leadership of the community to Ibrahim (‘a) after exposing him to hard tests. Then, Ibrahim (‘a) asked God to assign this station to his descendants as well.
Other Qur’anic verses clearly state that God accepted the request of Ibrahim (‘a) and after granting the station of nubuwwah to Ibrahim’s righteous and upright descendants, He appointed them to the position of the leadership of the community and rule over the ummah. The Holy Qur’an says in this regard:
فَقَدْ آتَيْنا آلَ إِبْراهيمَ الْكِتابَ وَ الْحِكْمَةَ وَ آتَيْناهُمْ مُلْكًا عَظيمًا

“We have certainly given the progeny of Abraham the Book and the wisdom, and We have given them a great sovereignty.”[8][353]
We can deduce from this verse that the position of imamah and leadership of the society is different from that of nubuwwah, which God, the Exalted, granted to His prophet, Ibrahim (‘a), after passing a series of difficult divine trials.
When he prayed to God and asked Him to give the position of governance and leadership to his descendants too, the Lord granted that prayer by granting that high station to his just descendants and offspring, and apart from the (heavenly) Book and wisdom {hikmah}, which are the signs of nubuwwah and risalah, He granted them “great sovereignty” {mulkan ‘azimah}, which means governance and leadership over the people.
As such, the request of Ibrahim (‘a) was granted. Thus, some of his descendants such as Yusuf (Joseph), Dawud (David) and Sulayman (Solomon) (‘a) were chosen for the position of governance, administration and leadership of the society in addition to the station of nubuwwah.
It is evident from what we have stated that the station of imamah is different from any of the two stations of nubuwwah and risalah, and on account of its broader domain of discretion and responsibilities, imamah has greater value and higher status.
Superiority of the station of imamah
From the previous discussion, it is clear that the responsibility of a nabi and rasul does not go beyond reminding the people and showing them the way. Whenever a nabi or a rasul reaches the station of imamah, he has to shoulder a more crucial responsibility, and this entails that he has to implement divine programs and execute the decrees of the sacred religion on the way of establishing a model and prosperous society to ensure for his ummah felicity in this world and the next.
It is evident that great spiritual power and special competence are indisputable for bearing such a crucially important responsibility, and shouldering such a heavy burden, which involves difficult problems and struggling against one’s inclinations, requires more maturity in the way of God and excessive fortitude.
This goal cannot be achieved without divine love and annihilation {fana’} in attaining God’s good pleasure. For this reason, God, the Exalted, granted Ibrahim (‘a) the station of imamah after exposing him to a series of hard trials during the last moments of his life. For this reason, too, He honored His most anointed servants, including the Holy Prophet of Islam (S), with the station of imamah and leadership of the ummah, and appointed them to govern and lead the society.
Are nubuwwah and imamah correlative?
The following questions may arise here: Must every prophet who has the station of nubuwwah be an Imam as well? Or, must the one who has the position of imamah be a prophet as well?
The answer to either question is negative. We shall elaborate on this issue in the light of the logic of revelation: The verses about Talut (Saul) and his struggle against the oppressive Jalut (Goliath) clearly state that sometime after the passing away of Hadrat Musa (Moses) (‘a), God, the Exalted, granted the station of nubuwwah to a person named “Samuel” while the station of imamah (leadership and governance) was given to Talut. Here is the detailed account of this event:
After the demise of Musa (‘a), a group of the Children of Israel said to the prophet of their time: “Appoint a ruler for us so that we may fight in the way of God under his command.” The reply of their prophet was:

“‘Allah has appointed Saul as king for you. They said, ‘How can he have kingship over us, when we have a greater right to kingship than him, as he has not been given ample wealth?’ He said, ‘Indeed Allah has chosen him over you, and enhanced him vastly in knowledge and physique, and Allah gives His kingdom to whomever He wishes, and Allah is all-bounteous, all-knowing’.”[9][354]
From the above verse, the following points can be inferred:
1. It is possible that in case of expediency, nubuwwah is separated from imamah and rule and at a certain time, nubuwwah is granted to a certain person and governance and rule to another person, each of whom is worthy of the position granted to him.
On account of the possibility of separating these two positions from one another, the Children of Israel never said that their prophet (Samuel) was more qualified than him (Talut). Rather, they said complainingly: “We have a greater right to kingship than him”.
2. The station which Talut held was granted to him by God, as the Qur’an says: “Allah has appointed Saul as king for you”. It also states: “Indeed Allah has chosen him over you.”
3. The divine station and responsibility Talut had was not merely to command the army but he was rather the ruler and head of the Children of Israel as it is deduced from the word, “king” {mulk}, i.e. headship of government.
Although the aim of this headship at that time was the leadership of the Children of Israel in jihad in the way of God, the divine position he held also allowed him do other things all of which are related to governance, as the latter part of the verse states: “Allah gives His kingdom to whomever He wishes.”
4. The most important condition of the governance of a society, imamah and leadership of the ummah is possessing vast knowledge and required spiritual and physical capabilities, especially by the rulers live at a time when they are supposed to play an active role in leading the army.[10][355]
From what have been said so far, it is clear that there is no concomitance and inseparability between nubuwwah and imamah. In fact, a person may attain the position of nubuwwah but he is not Imam and leader of the ummah who has the discretion of ruling over the people.
Also, a person may be designated by God as administrator and ruler of a society but he is not a prophet. And sometimes, God, the Exalted, grants both stations to a person who is worthy of both of them, as the Glorious Qur’an says:
فَهَزَمُوهُم بِإِذْنِ اللّهِ وَقَتَلَ دَاوُودُ جَالُوتَ وَآتَاهُ اللّهُ الْمُلْكَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَعَلَّمَهُ مِمَّا يَشَاءُ

“Thus they routed them with Allah’s will, and David killed Goliath, and Allah gave him the kingdom and wisdom, and taught him whatever He liked.”

On the 15th of Shaban

By: Hosein AlKhaffaji
On the 15th of Shaban
another flower has bloomed.
In Muhammad's garden
another spring has come.

The holder of Ali's Zulfiqar
has opened eyes today.
The holder of Musa's stalk
has blessed this day.

The sparkling light of moon,
The joy of Haider has come,
The avenger of Hussain's blood,
The Yousef of Zahra has come.

Today none shall be deprived;
for the Imam of his time has come.
Felicitations O' lovers . . .
For Askari's son has come.

The Birthday OF Imam Mahdi [AJ] MUBARAK MUBARAK TO ALL LOVERS of Justice and Humanity

We love to see you Ya Mahdi[aj] Ya Baqi-yATAllah with all our heart and soul.Ya Aba-Saaleh, Ya Mowla,Ya Imam,
You are the joy of life and hope for life that Allah[swt] granted us!
We are confident that the darkness of injustice and corruptions with all bitter lies and deception and false promises will be vanished by your victorious coming!
The joy and hope is the least that mankind gain from your Blessed Name.
Ya Mahdi[aj] Adrekna.

Birthday of Imam al-Mahdi (AS)-15 Syaa'ban 255H

n the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

And we desired to bestow a favor upon those who were deemed weak in the land, and to make them the Imams (Leaders of mankind), and to make them the heirs. (Quran, 28:5)

At dawn, on the 15th Sha'ban 255 A.H., the rays of the illuminating world shone with a powerful shaft of light into a human form, which became the source of existence for the universe.

Yes, finally, the Divine promise was fulfilled and Imam al- Mahdi (A.S) was born in spite of the efforts of those who denied him:

Indeed, what day does people with such elation and glory revere like this day?

It is on his birthday that he will bring the east and west of the world to justice, and by his powerful hand annihilates demons ('ifrit), infidelity and irreligiousness.

On this day, the authority of the Last Luminous Jewel of Allah will be established on the face of the earth. He it is who will decide the end of the long struggle between truth and falsehood. His appearance will mean a victory for truth and the annihilation of falsehood.

He will remove ignorance and class-discrimination from the world and will establish equality instead; he will exploit the earth's resources distribute them among the poor and make them sufficient.

The outburst of enthusiasm and happiness will at that time cause tears to flow down the cheeks of enthusiasts, and the lustrous and mournful eyes of the awaiting people will be filled with light.

Mahdism is the most genuine and fundamental Islamic belief, which even a person with a limited knowledge of Islam will surely accept.

Shaikh Mofeed, a distinguished Shiite scholar, also wrote is Irshad:

"When Imam Hassan al-Askari (A.S) passed away, the caliph of that time pursued his son. Because the Shiite Imamyya's belief was famous and was spread about that the Shiites were awaiting his Eminence.

Mu'tadid, one of the tyrant Abbasid caliphs who ruled from 279 to 289 A.H., decided all at once to destroy the entire family of al-Askari when he heard that more of Imam Hassan Askari (A.S) and that he was still living in spite of the attempts of the preceding caliph to kill him.

One of Mu'tadid's officers said:

"Mu'tadid has ordered me and two other persons, each of us to mount a horse and to proceed to Samara in full speed without even stopping for prayer. He gave us the address of Imam al-Askari (AS) and instructed us to enter his house without his permission and to bring hem the head of whoever we find there."

As a matter of fact, they were unaware that the same power that had protected the Imam from the former caliphs would give him protection from his evil, because:

Allah disdains (nothing) save that He shall perfect his light, however much the disbelievers are averse. (Quran, 9:32)

Indeed what an immature thought and foolish act it was! If the Devine will bears on some matter, can a person revolt against it and combat it? Is it possible that definite divine promises may not be compiled whit? Or is it possible that the reins of oppressive impostors who fight against the divine decree will not cut?

Is it not more amazing that Peerless, Almighty Allah has shown His power many times before, so that after that all men should know that if He wishes to give His chosen servant government and sovereignty and to destroy infidelity and irreligiousness through him, then there is no one who can disrupt his rule.

Fortunately, this sensational story is mentioned in the holy Quran: Pharaoh, the great emperor of Egypt, who had great power and pride, claimed the divinity for himself. He determined to kill all the youths and boy children of Bani Isra'il as a result of what he had heard about a son being born who would destroy his empire and divinity.

He shed the blood of innocents, and banished many persons to unknown regions; but see how Almighty Allah restored His Prophet and how the Divine will worked to protect the life of Musa (Moses (A.S)) and destroy Pharaoh:

"And we revealed to Musa's Mother saying: Give him such. Then when you fear for him, cast him i nto the river and don not fear nor grieve. Surely we will bring him back to you and make him one of the apostles. And Pharaoh's family took him up that he might be and enemy and a grief for them. Surely Pharaoh and Haman and their hosts were wrong-doers"..……. So we gave him back to his mother that her eye might be refreshed, and that she might not grieve, and that she might know that the promise of Allah is true, but most of them do not know (Quran, 28:7-13)

Yes, Allah will protect His proof (Hojjah) and will fulfill His promises and glad tidings because His decision is based on its execution, although most people do not know it.

Would Allah wish to save the life of Prophet Musa (A.S) who has only a messenger to a certain nation and tribe, and yield the Imam of the Age (Imam-e-Zaman) into the hands of Mu'tamid and Mu'tadid?

Would Allah protect the life of Musa (AS) while he was in the middle of the roaring waves of river, and give no security to the Imam of the Age who was in the house of his father, Imam Hassan Askari (AS)?

Would the sustaining Allah protect prophet Ibraheem the middle of the flaming fire, but allow the last pearl of the prophet's Progeny to be a victim of the lust and anger of the Abbasid caliphs?

We said: O' fire be a comfort and peace to Ibraheem (Quran, 21:69)

Really how do false thinkers and feeble-minded people judge?

At dawn, on the middle day of Shabaan in the year 255 A.H., Imam Hassan al Askari (AS) beheld the heavenly, shining face of his son who was to full fill all divine promises and glad tiding. Not more than three days had passed after his birth when the eleventh Imam took the holy child to his companions and told them:

After me this will be your master of authority and my successor, and hi is the support (al-Qaaim) for whose appearance all people will wait; when the earth is full of injustice and tyranny, he will full it with peace and justice.

Imam Hassan al Askari (AS) prepared a true Government for his fruitful son. He kept secret the birth of his son and other related matters, because his Eminence was living in a difficult time when the caliphs were intensively searching for his son and were keeping a close eye on the affairs of Imam Hassan al Askari. This is because the Shiites imamia belief about the Imam al Mahdi (A.S) had become so current that they were waiting for his Eminence hence Imam Hassan al Askari (A.S) did not show his son, and, therefore, the enemies could not recognize Imam al-Mahdi (A.S) after the demise of his Eminence (father).

Abo Omari and Ahwazi reported:

Abo Muhammad (Imam Hassan al Askari) showed me his son and told me, this is your master (sahib).

Yes in this manner was the Imam of the age born and kept hidden from the reach of strangers. On some occasions only were virtuous Shiites allowed to see him until the year 260a.h.,when the eleventh Imam expired, and by divine decree the office of divine leadership (imamate) was vested in the master of the authority (Sahibol-Amr).

The Minor Occultation:

When Imam Hassan al Askari (AS) martyred the office of divine leadership (Imamate) was transferred to the last luminous pearl of the household of the Holy Prophet Imam al-Mahdi (AS) although His Eminence did not appear amongst the people, some persons in whom the he had trust the confidence were allowed to visit him and present him the problems and questions of the Shiites. And in due time they conveyed the guidance of his eminence to the people.

Among the companions of Imam-e-Zaman , four became his most famous and confidential deputies who acted as mediators between the Imam and the people, and they are known as the as-Nawab-e-Arba'a (the four deputies).

1.Otham bin Saeed Omari

2.Abo Jaffar Muhammad bin Othman

3.Abol-Qasim hossain bin Roh Nawbakhti.

4.Abol-Hassan Ali bin Muhammad Saimari.

This honorable figure was the last special deputy (Naibol-Khass) of the holy Imam-e-Zaman (AS). Imam announced the death of Ali bin Muhammad and the end of the deputation.

The last letter of Imam-e-Zaman to Saimari:

In the name of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful.

You are going to die in six days, may Allah grant patience to your brother's in faith on your departure. So, be prepared, but appoint no one in your place, because from the day of your death the period of my major occultation (al ghaybatul kubra) will begin. Hence forth, no one will see me, unless and until Allah makes me appear.

My reappearance will take place after a very long time when people will have grown tired of waiting and those who are weak in there faith will say: What! Is he still alive?

When will men become cruel and inconsiderate, and the world will bi full of injustice and violence. Very soon some men will claim to have see me. Beware! Anyone who makes such a claim before the coming out of Sufyani and the sound from heaven announcing my reappearance is a liar and impostor. There is no might or strength except in Allah.

As can be seen from this, it is the last order, in which the door of special deputation is closed by the death of Ali bin Muhammad; Hence, any one who claim to be a mediator, or claims that the Imam can be seen, is a lair.

Yes, the four deputies who were at the highest level of faith and confidence for many years were the blessed mediators between the Imam and the people till in the year 329 A.H. when the deputation was closed, and on the basis of the Divine Will the major occultation of Imam-e-Zaman, commenced. This was the very occultation, which was prophesied a log time previously by holy prophet and the Shiites Imam and Muslims keep patient in this period of test, till by the order of Almighty Allah, the awaited Imam will appear, and the Divine Aim will reach its fulfillment.

The Major Occultation

In the holy Imam traditions, the purpose of the Imam's going in to occultation is compared to the sun being behind the clouds yet being a source of vitality and life for living creatures, likewise; while the Imam is behind the curtain of occultation he is still a source of the existence and remaining of the world.

I asked Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (A.S): How will people benefit from the hidden proof in the occultation? He replied: They will derive benefit when the sun is behind clouds.

In the Islamic tradition when the subject of occultation of the Twelfth Imam is discussed, reference is made to the complex nature of the Divine test, in this Divine test the faithful Shiites are distinguished from the others" and become as pure as a pure gold.

In Islamic tradition, a comparison is drawn between the sincere faithful of the Shiites and faith of a few followers of the prophet Nuh (AS), who remained faithful despite their very difficult, and who, by boarding the ark with prophet Nuh (AS), were save from the deluge.

Therefore, blessed are those who have passed this Divine test; we hope to be among their rank.

The Shiites During The Imam's Occultation

So now what is a duty of Shiite?

What responsibilities does he have?

Truly, are we reckoned among the real followers of His Eminence (Imam al Mahdi (AS))?

If we study the lives of the devout Shiites (followers) of the Holy Imams before the Twelfth Imam and consider their sacrifices without the slightest hesitation, we shall at once awake from our neglectful slumber and realize our weakness and guilt.

Were not Salman al-Farsi, Abo Zar al-Ghaffari, Ammar bin Yasir and Malik-e-Ashtar the followers of Imam Ali, Ameer al Momineen (AS), and are we too the followers of Imam of our Age?

Were not the martyrs of Karbala, who with love strove in the way of defending the Imam of their time, Hussein (AS), and were martyred, the followers of His Eminence, and are we too, who refuse to give our wealth, lives and other mean in the way of the Imam of our time, His Eminence's followers?

Is a person like Hisham bin Hakam, who in his extraordinary and valuable debates crushed and defamed the opponents of the Devine Leadership (Imamate) in such a way that he was called the "assistant of the Imam" by Imam as-Sadiq (AS), a Shiite? And are we too, who are sluggish in fulfilling our foremost duty to recognize the Imam of our time, Shiites?

From what we read of the glad tiding in the Quran and the traditions of the Holy Prophet and the infallible Imam, the Imam of the Age (Imam-e-Zaman) has special responsibilities that other Imams did not have Imam-e-Zaman will establish Universal Government. He will fill the earth with righteousness and justice, He will exploit the earth's treasures and natural resources, He will improve and develop the land, and in this way people's awareness and understanding will improve.

The duty of Shiites during the major occultation, is the Holy Imam have alluded to, so the question of being ready for the savior.

One who is waiting and preparing himself for the appearance of the Imam must have characters and merits of the companions of Imam al-Mahdi (AS). So, we should pray to Allah that He may include us among those who are waiting for the Imam of the age, and that our acts and conduct may also symbolize the truth of our claim.

Shiites must have a devout link with His Eminence during the occultation. Their prayers should be to ask for blessing of Allah to be showered on His Eminence, and their supplication should be of salvation. Their existence should be one welded and fused unit, and their life should blaze with love for him.
